About the Role

Moneysail, a full subsidiary of Mercuryo, authorised by HANFA to provide crypto asset services, is
now seeking a Deputy Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Officer to help us in building out the second line
of defence and to push our Financial Crime Compliance Program to the next level

As Moneysail’s AML Compliance Analyst, you will be work with our Head of Compliance and wider
Risk and Compliance team and support the mission for the team as the company continues to scale.
You will work closely with key stakeholders in Operations, Legal, Risk, Product, Engineering, and
other functional areas to ensure Monetley is compliant with all relevant regulations.
The AML Compliance Analyst reports directly to Moneysail’s Head of Compliance and will be
supporting our financial crime efforts across all Mercuryo entities (currently in Europe and North
America).
As our AML Compliance Analyst, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of areas in the
increasingly important world of fintech payments and virtual assets and have a real impact on the
growth of the entire Mercuryo Group


Your Role: 

  • Oversee and Enhance Transaction Monitoring Frameworks: Develop and refine the transaction monitoring policies and ensure their effective application by the first line.
  • Conduct Quality Assurance on First-Line Reviews: Assess and validate the quality of first-line AML investigations and ensure alignment with regulatory standards.
  • Monitor Client Due Diligence Processes: Oversee and review first-line CDD and KYC processes, providing guidance to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Regulatory Analysis and Impact Assessment: Analyze new regulatory requirements and assess their impact on internal processes and controls.
  • Develop and Update Policies: Draft, update, and ensure the effective implementation of policies and procedures in line with evolving regulations.
  • Report Compliance Insights to Management: Prepare compliance summaries and risk assessments for senior management, highlighting key risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct Thematic Reviews and Risk Assessments: Perform in-depth reviews on high-risk areas to ensure controls are adequate and aligned with AML frameworks.
  • Provide Compliance Advisory Support: Serve as a point of contact for first-line inquiries on AML and compliance issues, providing guidance and oversight.
  • Oversee Training Programs: Design and review the training materials delivered to first-line teams, ensuring they are comprehensive and up-to-date with regulatory
    expectations.
  • Support Regulatory Engagement and Audits: Act as a liaison during regulatory
    reviews, preparing documentation, and facilitating first-line responses to regulators
    and auditors.


What We're Looking For: 

  • A newly graduated student or intern looking for experience in an e-money, payment services, and crypto company
  • You’ll need to be hungry for a generalist role – we’d love to see that you have an interest in all compliance areas – such as Financial Crime, Regulatory, Conduct, Consumer Protection and Data Protection, but with a bias toward Financial Crime.
  • A keen eye for detail and the ability to confidently challenge the business units and advise on solutions to problems.
  • The ability to build strong relationships, make impactful contributions and influence business strategy.
  • Fluency in English

We're hybrid-remote so you should be comfortable picking up new software tools for document drafting, collaboration and communication. Most of your colleagues will not share an office with you on a day-to-day basis.
