POSITION SUMMARY
The Social Director will play a critical leadership role within our global social and creative agency, overseeing the social strategy, content execution, and community management for a key tech client - supporting social growth for multiple business units. Reporting directly to the Head of Social, the Social Director will manage a dedicated team focused on delivering innovative and impactful organic and paid social media campaigns across platforms such as LinkedIn, X (Twitter), Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and potentially TikTok. . The ideal candidate will bring 8+ years of expertise in social media strategy and social channel management, with a strong background in both organic and paid programs for tech clients. Agency experience is preferred, and the candidate must have a proven track record of leading social media initiatives for high-profile tech brands.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- A combination of education and work experience can be substituted.
- 8+ years of experience in social media strategy, community management, and social account management, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
Proven experience managing organic and paid social media campaigns for a tech client; agency experience is strongly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with LinkedIn, X, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and (preferably) TikTok.
- Strong understanding of social media analytics, performance tracking, and optimization techniques.
- Excellent leadership, people management, and mentoring skills, with experience leading multi-functional teams.
- Exceptional communication and client management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence key stakeholders.
- Creative thinker with the ability to translate strategic vision into actionable plans and results-driven campaigns.

JOB DUTIES
Strategic Leadership & Development
- Lead the development and execution of comprehensive social media strategies for a global tech client across organic and paid channels.
- Oversee the creation of campaign plans and editorial calendars that align with the client’s business goals, focusing on brand awareness, engagement, and lead generation.
- Provide expert guidance on platform best practices, ensuring the tech client leverages LinkedIn, X, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and potentially TikTok to their full potential.
Team Management
- Directly manage a team of Social Strategists, Community Managers, and Social Coordinators.
- Foster a collaborative team environment, providing mentorship and professional development opportunities to direct reports.
- Lead team performance reviews, providing actionable feedback to improve skills and drive innovation.
- Ensures seamless communication and collaboration between the social team and creative, paid media, and client services departments.
Client Relationship Management
- Work closely with Account Director to serve as a senior contact for the client, leading high-level client meetings and delivering strategic recommendations that align with the client’s overall marketing goals.
- Build strong relationships with client stakeholders, ensuring clear communication on project deliverables, timelines, and performance metrics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including creative and production to ensure the client’s social media presence is cohesive and strategically aligned with broader marketing efforts.
Content & Campaign Oversight
- Oversee the production of engaging, high-quality content tailored to each social media platform, with a strong focus on LinkedIn, X, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook.
- Ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines, meets the client’s KPIs, and drives measurable results.
- Provide creative direction for social campaigns, working closely with the creative team to ensure content reflects the brand’s voice and visual identity.
Performance Monitoring & Optimization
- Analyze the performance of social media campaigns, providing regular insights and optimization recommendations to maximize results.
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), including engagement, reach, conversions, and ROI, adjusting strategy as needed to meet and exceed targets.
- Use data-driven insights to continuously refine social media tactics and adapt to platform changes, audience behavior, and industry trends.
Platform Expertise & Innovation
- Stay up to date on emerging social media trends, tools, and platforms, with a strong focus on LinkedIn, X, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook.
- Explore new opportunities to incorporate TikTok and other innovative social platforms into the client’s social strategy where relevant.
- Lead the exploration and adoption of new social media technologies, tools, and best practices that can enhance performance and efficiency for the tech client.
