Job description

About the role

As the Fleet Allocator, you will be responsible for the overall supervision of the daily transport operations. You will be responsible for the efficient and cost-effective allocation of transport related tasks to company drivers, captive sub-contractors, and outside hire in this area

What you’ll do

  • Promote a proactive safety culture, ensuring full compliance with COR standards.

  • Conduct regular toolbox meetings with drivers as per management requirements.

  • Manage daily fleet control and allocation using IT systems, ensuring timely pickups in line with customer needs.

  • Efficiently assign work to company drivers, sub-contract carriers, and additional resources to maximize cost-effectiveness.

  • Maintain fleet presentation standards; ensure all vehicles are clean, roadworthy, and compliant with safety regulations.

  • Use fleet management systems to track deliveries, support 96% scanning targets, and improve efficiency.

  • Provide timely updates to customers and stakeholders on pickup and delivery status.

  • Plan manpower and vehicle allocation according to volume expectations, budgets, and leave requirements.

  • Coordinate maintenance schedules in line with equipment guidelines.

  • Ensure adherence to fatigue management and COR regulations.

  • Ensure compliance with Australian Dangerous Goods Code for transporting hazardous materials.

  • Support business objectives with timely updates on delivery schedules, depot closures, and revenue recovery.

  • Perform additional duties or special projects as needed. 

What you’ll bring

  • Computer proficiency - specifically in MS Office Suite

  • Working knowledge of Transport related systems

  • An awareness of road legislation and permit conditions

  • Good geographical knowledge of Australia and capital cities
