HealthEquity is seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator II to join our team. This role is critical in maintaining and supporting our on-premises Oracle databases and assisting in our migration to the cloud. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Oracle database management, backup technologies, and automation.
What you’ll be doing
Oracle Database Maintenance & Support: Maintain and support Oracle databases, ensuring high availability, performance, and disaster recovery, including Real Application Clusters (RAC) and Exadata hardware.
Backup & Recovery: Manage backup and recovery processes using RMAN and Oracle Secure Backup, and collaborate with business leaders on RPO (Recovery Point Objective) and RTO (Recovery Time Objective) strategies.
On-call Support: Participate in an on-call rotation to provide support when necessary.
Database Migrations: Assist with database migrations to Oracle’s Exadata platform in Microsoft Azure.
Automation: Develop and implement automation scripts to enhance operational efficiency and support day-to-day DBA tasks.
Database Performance: Perform Oracle configuration, performance tuning, and code reviews for query optimization.
Environment Support: Provide ongoing support across multiple environments (Development, Test, UAT, etc.) and manage Oracle refresh processes.
Backend Systems: Design and implement backend systems with a focus on high availability, disaster recovery, data security, and compliance.
Maintenance Tasks: Handle regular maintenance tasks like patching, security remediation, and storage/index maintenance.
Collaboration & Product Design: Participate in product design meetings, system testing, and data modeling. Collaborate with developers, system admins, project managers, and external consultants as needed.
Application Support: Support both public-facing websites and back-end applications, working on SQL packages, PowerShell, and other scripts, and helping develop user interfaces.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve production outages affecting websites and financial applications.
Documentation: Create and maintain a comprehensive library of supporting DBA documentation.
What you will need to be successful
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree or at least 4 years of equivalent experience as a Database Administrator.
- Customer Service & Collaboration: Strong customer service skills and ability to collaborate effectively with all levels within HealthEquity.
- Oracle Expertise: Extensive experience in Oracle Database Administration, with MSSQL
- Troubleshooting Skills: Proficient in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to blocking, deadlocking, performance, and database integrity.
- Backup & Recovery: Experience with backups, restores, recovery models, and security protocols, including RAC, scripting, and automation.
- Index Management: Strong knowledge of indexes, index management, and configuration.
- Documentation: Ability to create thorough documentation for processes, procedures, knowledge base articles, runbooks, and system topology.
- Problem Solving: Skilled in diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.

Salary Range:
$96,500.00 To $120,000.00 / year

The actual compensation offer is determined based on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, and work location.
