Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Enterprise PACS Program Manager to lead the implementation and integration of a large-scale radiology PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) solution across multiple sites. This project, integrating 36 disparate imaging systems into a unified PACS solution, with a focus on improving radiology workflow, image storage, and access. You will work closely with executive consultants, IT teams, radiology groups, and vendors to ensure a smooth and successful rollout.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the deployment of an enterprise PACS solution, managing the program across multiple locations and teams.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including radiology groups (e.g., IHA), healthcare IT vendors (Visage), and PE firms, to ensure successful integration and performance.
  • Oversee the consolidation of 36 independent systems into one unified PACS platform, ensuring that all imaging centers and radiology groups are on the same storage and viewing platform.
  • Coordinate closely with executive consultants, addressing any implementation challenges, and delivering progress reports to leadership.
  • Develop and execute the program roadmap, ensuring all milestones, scope, resources, and timelines are adhered to.
  • Lead teams responsible for integrating PACS with existing hospital systems like EPIC and ensuring compatibility across multiple sites, particularly in high-stakes environments where downtime is critical.
  • Manage the technical challenges of large-scale radiology PACS rollouts, including system cutover processes, integrating modalities (e.g., CT, MRI), and supporting radiology solutions at go-live.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, especially regarding the secure storage and transmission of large medical image files.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, especially related to PACS viewer software, archive software, and the connection of imaging devices (e.g., CT machines).
  • Drive customer-focused strategies to ensure seamless transitions and minimal disruption to radiology departments.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the project management team, radiology IT support, and third-party vendors involved in the implementation.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in healthcare IT, specifically in PACS implementation and radiology systems integration.
    • Proven track record of deploying enterprise PACS solutions in multi-site, complex environments (e.g., integrating imaging centers, hospital networks, and radiology groups).
    • Strong project management background, with experience managing large-scale IT rollouts ($50M+ budgets).
  • Technical Expertise:

    • In-depth knowledge of PACS systems, radiology workflows, and medical imaging standards.
    • Experience working with vendors like Visage or similar PACS platforms.
    • Knowledge of integrating PACS with hospital EHR systems (e.g., EPIC).
    • Understanding of medical imaging devices (CT, MRI) and connectivity with PACS systems.
  • Soft Skills:

    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact effectively with executives, technical teams, radiology departments, and third-party vendors.
    • Customer-focused, with the ability to navigate challenges, particularly during go-lives and system cutovers.
    • Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Preferred Certifications:

    • PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar certification.
    • PACS-related certifications are a plus.
