As an Event Accountant with Maritz (Business Events Solutions), you will be responsible for managing and validating financial transactions associated with corporate meetings, ensuring accuracy in reporting and reconciliation. This role requires strong attention to detail, proficiency in Excel, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with other teams.

Credit Card Management:

  • Manage four corporate meeting cards; download monthly statements and validate all charges. Work with event planners to match each transaction with the corresponding receipt; follow up to obtain missing receipts as needed. Track and record each transaction in Excel, ensuring proper allocation to designated cost centers.

Billing and Payment Processing:

  • Utilize the e-marketplace system to prepare and process payments to AMEX, ensuring accurate charge allocation across cost centers.

Accruals and Prepayments:

  • Handle monthly accruals, year-end accruals, and pre-payment entries to ensure accurate financial tracking and compliance.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of accounting experience.

  • Proficiency in Excel for cost tracking, reconciliation, and data organization.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple financial tasks accurately.

  • Team player who can collaborate effectively with event planners and other departments.

  • Cvent experience is a plus.
