Job description

Job Title: Recruitment and Outreach Specialist - Remote | WFH

Job Overview

We are on the lookout for a proactive, versatile, and meticulous Recruitment and Outreach Specialist to become a valued member of our innovative team. This position will play a crucial role in supporting the Office of Research Training & Development (ORTD) within the Division of Intramural Research (DIR). Your focus will be on enhancing office processes, spearheading IT innovation initiatives, and executing outreach activities aimed at promoting training and education in the field of biomedical research.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enhance office workflows by modernizing processes through advanced technological solutions.
  • Spearhead IT innovation projects, including podcasts and online community discussions, to foster networking and promote programs.
  • Partner with NIH software and web development teams to develop new information-sharing processes; provide training to the office team on emerging software tools.
  • Oversee and curate content for social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Support listserv management and assist with website design and content updates across various platforms.
  • Develop and manage a digital photo gallery and maintain a database of consent forms related to photo usage.
  • Stay updated on relevant conferences and events to identify recruitment opportunities.
  • Attend program events, delivering detailed reports and visual materials for promotional use.
  • Engage with external institutions, media representatives, and other stakeholders for recruitment and program promotion.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in web development, management, and content editing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and project management software.
  • Strong graphic design skills and project management experience are advantageous.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, verbal, and presentation capabilities; scientific writing experience preferred.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new software and manage competing deadlines effectively.
  • A strong commitment to fostering a sense of community through professional communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; a graduate degree is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of related professional experience.
  • Familiarity with IT applications in a government context is preferred.
  • Local candidates only; occasional onsite presence in Bethesda, MD may be required.
