Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Specialist to join our Budget & Resource Planning team in Marketing. In this role, you will be responsible for centrally managing all of Vail Resorts’ Marketing team budgets, invoicing, purchase order generation and receivables, along with other systems and processes. You will also contribute to resource planning initiatives and various projects related to budgeting. The position requires expertise in managing budgets to a high degree of accuracy, interfacing between multiple departments. You will be required to work autonomously within established procedures and practices to support a range of stakeholders following a tiered support model.

Job Responsibilities:
Budget Management:
- Drive effective budget management and compliance while enhancing cross-departmental budget understanding.
- Manage and track purchase orders requested by Marketing teams to ensure timely payments to suppliers.
- Oversee Planful budget trackers for Marketing teams, ensuring budget accuracy and financial literacy for stakeholders through training and business storytelling.
- Lead variance investigations for issues such as late invoices, rectify incorrect expense mapping, and make recommendations as needed.
- Manage the monthly close and forecasting processes from start to finish, including deliverables such as accruals and journal entries.
- Facilitate monthly close meetings to address variances to forecasts, communicating variance drivers to senior leadership.
- Lead partnerships with Procurement & Accounts Payable to streamline budget management processes across the Marketing organization.
Resource Efficiency:
- Act as a liaison between Finance, Procurement, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and Marketing stakeholders.
- Develop training materials and facilitate sessions to educate Marketing teams on the budget process.
- Continuously analyze processes and implement improvements to drive efficiencies, including creation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Assist team manager in leading upcoming fiscal year budget planning, working closely with senior leadership stakeholders.
- Perform additional Marketing Operations duties as requested by leadership.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Finance, or a related field preferred
- 2-5 years of experience in marketing, finance, or a related role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- A collaborative spirit and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with Coupa, Planful or PeopleSoft systems an asset

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $55,000 - $62,425. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
