Job Overview

We are actively seeking a skilled Model-Based Systems Engineer Consultant to spearhead architecture and systems modeling efforts in a remote capacity. This pivotal role demands a commitment to established engineering protocols while fostering collaboration among architects, technical leaders, and program management teams. The primary focus will be on defining and refining modeling patterns that accurately encapsulate stakeholder requirements, standards, and processes, applying these frameworks to systems architectures, operational models, and systems models for various customer projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) guiding engineering teams and stakeholders.
  • Perform a diverse range of design development, analysis, or review assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Oversee less complex tasks and manage segments of design or analysis reviews.
  • Produce comprehensive design specifications for intricate projects.
  • Identify gaps in industry capabilities or toolsets and devise effective solutions.
  • Collaborate intimately with engineering, logistics, financial, and program management teams to delineate system specifications and requirements.
  • Maintain organized filing systems or databases for tracking project progress.
  • Create, update, and generate technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications.
  • Act as a liaison with customers at all levels, engaging in activities from quotations to final design and testing, ensuring that all requirements and specifications are met.
  • Conduct site assessments to address engineering challenges, propose viable solutions, and provide recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering documentation standards and testing protocols.
  • Contribute to the formulation of technical proposals by offering insights on technical content and scope.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related STEM field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience.
  • U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain a Secret security clearance are mandatory.
  • Preferred: Master's degree in Computer Science, Physics, Math, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Preferred: 15+ years of experience in a relevant field.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional communication, organizational, scheduling, and analytical abilities.
  • Proven experience in leading and training medium-sized teams (10+ members).
  • Familiarity with modeling and simulation toolsets and software.
  • Experience with software APIs, particularly in Java.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and Agile practices.
  • Understanding of DevSecOps processes.
  • Experience in producing Systems Engineering Analysis reports that cover requirements analysis, system architecture, and integration/testing.
  • Proficient in cost accounting and integrated master schedule development.
  • Experience in risk analysis and risk management programs.

Compensation And Benefits

  • Job Type: Contract
  • Pay Rate: \(80.00 - \)100.00 per hour
  • Expected Hours: 10 - 40 hours per week
