Job Overview

We are seeking passionate and qualified individuals for the role of Commercial Energy Consultant. In this pivotal position, you will be responsible for executing energy audits and aiding commercial clients in implementing projects that boost energy efficiency, ultimately leading to considerable cost reductions through weatherization and electrification strategies. Your collaboration with contractors and utility providers will be essential in identifying available savings incentives and guiding customers toward effective energy solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive energy assessments for businesses and facilities, meticulously analyzing data to quantify savings from weatherization and equipment enhancements. You will produce detailed reports that outline your recommendations while adhering to assessment targets.
  • Oversee project management by staying informed about ongoing projects and deliverables, collaborating with the sales team as necessary. You will also identify suitable contractors for various projects and ensure compliance with utility program requirements to qualify for incentives or rebates.
  • Provide consultations on heat pump technology and energy efficiency, reviewing existing mechanical systems and advising on contractor proposals while recommending applicable incentive funding.
  • Drive sales by effectively communicating assessment findings and proposed energy-saving measures to clients. Foster and maintain robust relationships for future opportunities, including similar assessments for additional facilities.
  • Travel is required throughout Massachusetts and occasionally to neighboring states, comprising up to 40% of your work week.
  • Engage in professional development through industry trade associations and pursue ongoing training opportunities.

Required Skills

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in energy efficiency, including a background in commercial or residential energy auditing, or sales experience within commercial building services and energy-efficient HVAC equipment.
  • Experience in a field related to solar or HVAC is preferred, along with a proven track record of achieving sales goals.
  • Proficiency in delivering both in-person and virtual informational and sales presentations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with strong organizational capabilities and the ability to work independently.
  • A flexible and self-directed work style, showcasing leadership abilities.
  • Capacity to conduct site visits involving physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs and using technical equipment.
  • A genuine passion for environmental sustainability and community engagement is highly valued.

Qualifications

  • Preferred experience in training and educating internal or external partners in a business context.
  • A degree in a related field is advantageous but not mandatory.

Compensation And Benefits
