Remote Cloud Solutions Architect/Database Architect | WFH

Job Overview

We are actively seeking a highly skilled Cloud Database Architect to become an integral part of our innovative team located in Austin, TX. This role is tailored for an accomplished architect adept in the design and execution of scalable database solutions within cloud environments. You will have the opportunity to work both in our office and remotely, enjoying a flexible schedule with three in-office days (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and remote work on Mondays and Fridays.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and architect resilient cloud-based database frameworks that guarantee scalability, availability, and optimal performance across distributed systems.
• Engage deeply with relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL) databases, including but not limited to Oracle, Postgres, Cassandra, Couchbase, and CockroachDB.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, design, and implement integrated cloud solutions that satisfy diverse business requirements.
• Formulate and execute AWS database strategies, focusing on critical aspects such as data storage, replication, disaster recovery, and high availability.
• Optimize database performance through query tuning, schema refinement, and effective indexing and caching practices.
• Employ Python for automating infrastructure deployment tasks, monitoring databases, and enhancing operational efficiency.
• Uphold stringent data security and compliance measures through encryption, data masking, and role-based access controls.
• Utilize monitoring tools like Grafana and Splunk to assess database health and performance.
• Collaborate closely with development, cloud engineering, and DevOps teams to facilitate seamless integration of cloud database solutions within the overarching infrastructure.
• Establish and maintain architectural best practices, comprehensive documentation, and standards for both database and cloud solutions.
  
  

Required Skills

• 8-12 years of professional experience in database engineering and architecture, with a robust focus on cloud-native and hybrid environments.
• Proficient in data modeling, schema design, and optimization for SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Significant experience with AWS offerings (including RDS, Aurora, KMS, S3, EC2, Route53) for architecting and managing cloud data solutions.
• Proven track record of developing comprehensive cloud data strategies that align with business goals and address intricate challenges.
• Adept at creating scalable, high-performance database architectures for large-scale applications.
• Intermediate proficiency in Python for automating database and infrastructure tasks.
