Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Remote Compliance Specialist to join our esteemed team. This position offers an opportunity to ensure that our mortgage processes comply with regulatory standards, while actively contributing to a supportive and innovative work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compliance Monitoring: Conduct thorough reviews of loan documentation to confirm compliance with federal, state, and industry regulations (e.g., RESPA, TILA, TRID).
  • Internal Audits: Perform internal audits aimed at identifying compliance risks and ensuring adherence to company policies.
  • Regulatory Updates: Remain up-to-date on changes in mortgage regulations and effectively communicate these updates to relevant teams.
  • Policy Development: Collaborate in the creation, revision, and implementation of compliance policies and procedures.
  • Training & Guidance: Offer training and direction to staff regarding compliance issues, guaranteeing understanding and adherence to current regulations.
  • Reporting: Prepare and deliver regular compliance reports to management, highlighting areas of concern and suggesting improvements.
  • Documentation & Recordkeeping: Keep accurate records of compliance activities, findings, and resolutions.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex regulations.
  • Proficient in compliance management software and tools.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Law, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in mortgage compliance or a related field.
  • Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of federal and state mortgage regulations, including RESPA, TILA, TRID, and HMDA.
  • Certifications: CRCM or other relevant compliance certifications are advantageous.
