The Role
Imperial Brands is one of the largest Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) companies and we are currently recruiting for a Area Sales Manager to come and join our team. Would you like to be part of an inclusive, innovative global FMCG business supported by 25,000 employees?
We have a fantastic opportunity as our new Area Sales Manager role; working across all of our UK and Ireland airports. You will be responsible for implementing and executing all travel related strategies and activations and be responsible for implementation in all Duty-Free markets & channels within geographical footprint.
We cover 24 airports including Manchester, London, Birmingham, Bristol, Dublin so you will be required to travel to all of these as needed. Ideally we are looking for candidates who live in central England to make it easier for you to travel to our airports.
You will be responsible for delivering total area management – through customer management (Key Accounts, and distributors), managing all aspects of the P&L statement to deliver agreed quantitative and qualitative area targets as well as regional targets.

Key objectives
- Drive Distribution, Availability, Merchandising, Pricing and Advocacy throughout the airports, ferries, and other Duty-Free segments/Channels.
- Mission is to drive excellent performance in outlets – including all airports, and any other outlet that are deemed suitable.
- Collaboration with the wider Cluster team is critical to ensure you get all support required for a perfect execution of the strategy and reach the area targets.
Principle Accountabilities
- Develop and implement the area strategy, operational plan and execute global & regional activations in close cooperation with regional team and central functions.
- Educate and train retailers on our products and brands to ensure we have positive advocacy, impacting positively our sales.
- Ownership of monthly internal process, such as sales volume forecast, financial forecast, financial reports, budget monitoring, among others.
- Gain a full understanding of traveller's trends, brand trends in home and Duty-Free markets as well as pricing development and competitors’ strategy.
- Working closely with Sales Operations and Demand planning teams, secure ongoing availability of products on customer level through accurate sales forecasts considering in market sales, trends and seasonality, customer stock levels and warehouse stock levels and balance forecasts against risk of overstocking.
- Own and lead specific Global Duty Free & Export projects within region and across departments
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous or current FMCG sales experience
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills; with strong influencing, and partnering
- Can demonstrate strong drive for results, and delivery of commercial objectives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Excel, PowerPoint, and outlook)
- Ability to build strong business plans, demonstrating ROI process and recommendations
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
