Avesis is seeking an Actuarial Analyst who will develop a thorough understanding of our products and how the individual’s job responsibilities contribute towards achieving the goals of Avēsis. This individual will assist in performing financial and non-financial analyses, pricing, along with reserving and making recommendations consistent with Avēsis’ goals regarding growth and profitability. The role will be part of the Actuarial Student Program. To remain in the position, the individual must validate their SOA exam results versus Avēsis rules. The rules are described in the Actuarial Student Program Handbook this individual will receive upon hire.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist in pricing, reporting, and reserving of commercial and government dental and vision products.

  • Gain a thorough understanding of all assignments.

  • Become an expert in the technical aspects of all assignments.

  • Identify areas of improvement regarding procedural and/or technical aspects of projects, where possible.

  • Address such recommendations to your supervisor.

  • Complete assignments on time and according to specifications provided by your supervisor.

  • Strive towards completion of such assignments as independently as possible, recognizing situations where managerial guidance is needed.

  • Travel up to 10% is required.

Education and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree required.

  • 4 Actuarial Exams required.

  • 4 years of Actuarial experience required.

  • Advanced Excel required, programming knowledge a plus.

  • SQL knowledge preferred

  • Strong analytical and communication skills required.

  • Compensation commensurate with number of exams passed.

  • As this role is a remote role, you are required to maintain internet service that allows you to complete your essential job duties without issue. Rates of 50 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload while hardwired and not on a VPN are sufficient.

FLSA Status: Salary/Exempt

National Salary Range: $67,490 - $105,590
