Rust Systems Engineer
The Opportunity:

You have an excellent background in building high-performance services and working on critical infrastructure components. Proficiency in Rust, along with a solid foundation in database development and system architecture, is essential, and you will do continuous requirements gathering from both technical and non-technical clients.
As a Rust Systems Engineer on our team, you will develop and maintain web applications that facilitate data analysis and visualization in health sciences and epidemiology. You will write efficient, maintainable code in both higher-level web development languages, including JavaScript, HTML, or CSS, and lower level programming languages, including C++ and Rust.

You Have:
6+ years of experience with full-stack software development
3+ years of experience with Rust
3+ years of experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP
Experience working in version control
Experience with CI/CD software, including GitHub Actions, Travis CI, or Jenkins
Experience with Docker, microservices, and containerized applications
Experience with C, C++, Java, and Python
Knowledge of modern JS frameworks, including React, NextJS, or Angular
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
Bachelor’s degree
Nice If You Have:
Experience working in a Health Sciences environment
Experience working among and with Data Scientists and Epidemiologists
Experience leading small teams that are part of a larger enterprise
Experience with agent-based modeling or similar simulation techniques
Experience with the R statistical programming language
Experience with Linux Operating Systems, package managers, and systems administration
Knowledge of SCRUM and Agile methodologies
Knowledge of Jira and other task management systems

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
