Software Engineer

VitalSource®, is hiring a Software Engineer to contribute to our Engineering team located in Raleigh, North Carolina or remotely within the United States. If located in Raleigh, this is a hybrid role that includes a combination of in-office days and remote work.

We are hiring! We’re looking to add a Software Engineer to our Engineering team. In this role, you will participate in the development of new features, address bugs/issues as they arise, and recommend solutions. Key Responsibilities:

• Works with other members of the engineering team to address issues and work on elements of new features. 
• A strong participant in an engineering project.  With leadership from more senior team members, can deliver projects successfully.  
• Attends and contributes to company meetings and team ceremonies. 
• Requests and supplies code reviews and feedback from other members of the engineering team. This could include pair programming.  
• Can modify existing software as well as design and construct new software that meets the needs of the product team. 

Required Qualifications:

• 2+ years experience working in software development with good software development, debugging, testing, and analytical skills 
• 2+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails
• 2+ years of experience with JS/React
• Understanding of RESTful APIs and web development
• Data analytics skills and experience 
• Travel Requirement: Up to 10% for team settings/meetings

Preferred Skills:

• Cloud Experience (GCP or AWS)
• Flexible thinking, including the ability to pivot and try new approaches when faced with challenges 
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills 
• Strong Critical thinking and problem-solving skills 

Salary Range: $95,000 to $125,000
