The Senior DBA will perform and support data modeling, database administration and data management activities. Develop and/or analyze SQL code as needed. The person in this position will work as part of a project team of data engineers, Cloud Architects, analysts, and DevSecOps Engineers developers to support a large data warehouse at a federal agency.

Responsibilities

• Function in a complex Agile team environment.
  • Collaborate with 7 internal Agile team
    • Interpret needs specified by other teams and identify and implement optimal solutions.
  • Collaborate with two or more external programs with somewhat overlapping needs.
  • Collaborate with OIT resources managing Snowflake relationship to assure One PI, FPS, and UCM needs are being met.
• Perform DBA functions as required.
  • Administer database with thousands of tables.
  • Administer 2 or more complex semantic layers with highly complex SQL and DDL.
• Perform SQL development as required.
  • Support application development team with advanced SQL development.
  • Support performance monitoring and tuning.
• Provide accurate status as required.
• Responsible for developing, administering, loading, tuning petabyte Snowflake data warehouses.
• Analyze database architecture needs and develop appropriate solutions.

Qualifications

Qualifications

• US citizen or Authorized to Work and lived in the US for 3 of the last 5 years. Must be able to obtain a U.S. Federal government client badge and pass a government Public Trust.
• Bachelor’s Degree required and minimum 12 years of experience.
• 5+ years Agile experience, certifications preferred.
• 10+ years of DBA / Application DBA experience preferred.
• 10+ years of SQL experience required, 20 years of experience preferred
• 2+ years of Snowflake experience preferred.
• 4+ years database performance tuning preferred.
• 4+ years of AWS preferred.
• Prior experience with administrative Medicare claims data in a normalized physical data model.
• Excellent communication skills and an ability to work collaboratively with Agile team members.

The salary range provided represents the estimated compensation for new hires in this position, applicable across all locations. Actual offers may vary based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and market conditions.
