Flare is a dynamic cybersecurity Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) Threat Intelligence company on a mission to empower organizations to protect their data, customers, employees, and brand by shining a light on external threats. Our platform continuously identifies high-risk exposures across cybercrime communities and the clear web, enabling companies to stay ahead of evolving cyber risks.

TL;DR: We’re a team of cybersecurity professionals (and nerds) helping clients defend their networks and data by locating and addressing cyber threats.

Job Summary:

As a Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) Expert for the Product Team at Flare, you’ll be central to our mission, collaborating closely with the product team to drive intelligence-led product improvements and in collaboration with the threat research team. You’ll conduct research heavily focused on cybercrime dynamics, identifying trends and innovative data collection methods to ensure our threat intelligence platform evolves with the cyber landscape. Your insights will directly shape our product’s ability to detect and mitigate emerging threats.

Key Responsibilities:

  • In-Depth Cybercrime Research: Conduct targeted investigations in cybercrime forums, Discord, Telegram, TOX, and other dark web and cybercrime communities to uncover emerging trends, tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
  • Critical Data Collection: Develop and document new methods to enhance Flare’s critical external data discovery, focusing on cybercriminal behaviors and communities that may impact customers.
  • Product Collaboration: Act as a core intelligence advisor within the product management team, helping shape product strategy with insights from your cybercrime research.
  • Customer Support: Collaborate with customer success teams to explain emerging threats to clients, ensuring they have clear, actionable information for their security strategies.
  • Community Engagement: Participate in the broader cybersecurity community by sharing insights through FS-ISAC threat briefings, webinars, and other events to strengthen Flare’s thought leadership.
  • Proactive Source Discovery: Work with Flare’s cybercrime research team to proactively identify and integrate new critical data sources into Flare’s platform to create the world’s best cybercrime data set.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in cyber threat intelligence, with demonstrated skills in researching and understanding cybercrime ecosystems, including forums and marketplaces.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to extract and communicate valuable insights from complex datasets.
  • Proficiency in Python or Bash scripting to support automation in data collection and analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex intelligence to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working with threat intelligence platforms (TIPs), SIEM tools, and OSINT data sources.
  • Previous experience within product management teams or collaborative product development settings is highly valued.
  • Language fluency in Russian, Ukrainian, Arabic or Chinese is a bonus
