Account Manager - Professional, Mid-Atlantic

Role Location

Building the world’s leading sound experience starts with the experience we provide for our people. That’s why we’ve been distributed from the start: initially between offices in Boston & Santa Barbara, and now with additional offices around the globe. This role is based from home in the Mid-Atlantic Region with regular travel to Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, Delaware, DC, West Virginia and Kentucky.

This role reports to the Sr Sales Manager, Inside Sales - Professional and is responsible for account performance of our professional market within the Mid-Atlantic region.

One of the key sales channels at Sonos is Installed Solutions (also called Custom Integration). It’s the part of the business that is centered around Sonos being professionally installed by different types of professional installers. It’s a B2B channel that revolves around Sonos working with hundreds, even thousands of installation companies. These companies (dealers) are experts in recommending, installing and maintaining technology solutions that address both residential and commercial customer’s wants and needs. They offer best-in-class customer experiences and serve as the target customers Do it For Me provider. 

You’ll be responsible for setting the go-forward direction of the channel in the region, accelerating the growth of established distributors already in-place and evolving the channel to work with new types of professional installers (Security professionals, Electricians etc.). You’ll work cross functionally with fellow employees across commercial, marketing, field sales, finance, partnership, among others. If done right, you have the opportunity to truly help diversify the Sonos business within the region and tap into a massive growth market.. You will also develop the IS Business through strategic Partnerships within the Smart Home environment and implement initiatives that support our global growth agenda. 

What You Will Do 

  • Create and organize an effective schedule of dealer meetings to facilitate meeting with a minimum of 20 partners in the assigned market each month

  • Build and develop dealer relationships to drive revenue that exceeds company growth targets

  • Provide channel insights to contribute to the forecast process

  • Use smart business tools to allocate market development funds to key dealers that can drive incremental growth

  • Seek out opportunities in the AV integrator, security, builder, electrician, commercial, and remodeler channels to build relationships with new partners

  • Clearly report on your activities and results on a monthly and quarterly cadence to peers and executive leadership


What You’ll Need

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of customer-facing sales or marketing roles.

  • Ability to travel extensively throughout your region, this role will require travel 50%-75% of your time.

  • Ability to travel both on the road and in the air to meet with customers face to face.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, you will be speaking with dealers on a day to day basis in person, on the phone and over email.

  • A valid driver's license.

  • Must be based in the Mid-Atlantic Region (includes PA, southern NJ, DE, DC, VA, WV, KY)



Preferred Qualifications

  • Any exposure to Salesforce is a bonus, but we can help with training.

  • Experience or exposure to Google Suite or Microsoft Office.

  • Preference to applicants based in the greater Washington DC, Philadelphia, or Baltimore areas.

At Sonos we consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, which may lead  individual compensation to vary depending on job related qualifications, skills, and experience.  All full time employees are eligible for merit increases, discretionary bonuses, and equity.  Our job postings may span more than one career level and the base pay range may be modified in the future based on changing market conditions. The starting base pay for this role for all US candidates is between:

$91,000 and $101,000

Please note that compensation details listed in US job postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
