Job Description

The Quality Specialist - Spirits and RTD will support the business on the selection and development of products for our alcoholic and zero alcohol drinks portfolio (particularly Spirits & RTDs) in accordance with the Endeavour Group QA Framework and the relevant legislations, to ensure we deliver compliant unique and profitable brands that consistently exceed our customer's expectations.

The role partners with co-manufacturers, including co packers, distilleries, wineries and breweries, domestically and around the world as a key contact on annual audits, product quality, NPD and regulatory matters.

Here is a taste of what you can expect in this role:

Portfolio Management

  • Manage a large portfolio of own brand and imported spirits and RTD’s through product changes and regulatory amendments.
  • Drive the QA function within the Pinnacle Drinks NPD process
  • Manage product evaluation and regulatory assessment of imported and domestic products to ensure labelling and formulations are compliant with local laws.
  • Manage the production and on shelf surveillance process to assist in consistently delivering quality products.

Supplier Compliance

  • Build positive and collaborative working relationships with our Suppliers to
    maximise our core business and Supplier partnerships
  • Support the commercial teams with management of contract manufacturers, on-boarding new suppliers through our EDQ audit process and identifying quality improvement opportunities.
    Ensuring all suppliers for exclusive and own brands meet Endeavour Group's standards on manufacturing, environmental and ethical aspects.

Build Product Specification

  • Evaluate and build product specifications according to the Endeavour Group QA Framework, ensuring our products are safe and compliant
  • Manage the product evaluation process in accordance with the Endeavour Group QA Framework

Product Complaint Management

  • Manage product quality related consumer feedback, investigating issues and working closely with the Customer Advocacy team.
  • Escalate and resolve issues of product non conformance through root cause analysis and implementation of effective corrective measures.

Other

  • Keep up to date with regulatory and legislative matters.
  • Ensure QA data and records are stored and kept up to date.

Qualifications

Now let’s talk about you: 

  • Degree qualified in Food Technology/Science, with a proven track record working in alcohol or food manufacturing in FMCG environments
  • Knowledge and application of local and international regulatory requirements including Food Standards, Australian Consumer Law, NMI, ATO and Customs requirements
  • Technical experience & knowledge of beverage manufacturing, packaging & supply chain.
  • Excellent understanding of GMP, HACCP and GFSI Quality standards
  • Experienced in working with internal vendors & third party producers.
  • Knowledge and experience in alcoholic beverage manufacturing, particularly beer, spirits and RTD's
  • Experienced in writing operating procedures & assisting teams to gain or maintain external audit accreditations e.g. HACCP, ISO, BRC and other GFSI Standards
  • Experience in social compliance industry programs such as SMETA and BSCI
