Senior Accountant – Fixed Asset Administrator

Position Summary
The Senior Accountant (“SA”) will be responsible for maintaining the global fixed asset subledger, inclusive of property and equipment, internally developed software, and prepaid assets. The SA will work daily in SAP (S4 Hana) setting up prepaid assets and internal orders related to capital expenditures (CAPEX), inclusive or related month-end close activities related to running depreciation/amortization and time settlement (related to internally developed software projects).
The SA will be responsible for preparing month-end balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules related to fixed assets, monitoring the status and completion of all open CAPEX projects, and interfacing with other internal departments (e.g., Accounts Payable, IT Finance, Corporate IT, Procurement, tax, etc.).
The role will also involve assisting the Corporate Accounting Manager with adhoc reporting and questions from various business stakeholders related to fixed asset accounting.
The ideal candidate has a strong working knowledge of SAP, experience with fixed asset accounting, inclusive of internally developed software, is a self-starter, wants to make an impact, enjoys a challenge, and wants to be a part of a goal-driven team.
Essential Functions
- Setup up new fixed assets and prepaids in the subledger as projects are completed and purchases made, inclusive of ensuring purchases being capitalized are in accordance with company policy and US GAAP.
- Prepare month-end balance sheet reconciliations related to property and equipment, prepaids, and internally developed software.
- Work with stakeholders across the finance team related to the monitoring of purchase orders, fixed asset purchases, and open CAPEX projects.
- Work collaboratively with accounts payable and procurement to ensure complete and accurate coding of invoices and goods receipts related to fixed asset purchases.
- Prepare monthly recurring and one-time journal entries.
- Preparation of deliverables for internal or external audits as needed.
- Identify and implement process improvements.
- Work on ad hoc projects as needed.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant experience in Accounting/Finance, preferably in large, publicly traded or privately held companies, with specific experience related to fixed asset accounting in SAP.
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; or in country equivalent.
Specific Skills/Attributes
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills required.
- Must have a working knowledge of US GAAP and fixed asset accounting.
- Functional understanding of financial and operational business processes and reporting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English).
- Good analytical judgment and problem-solving skills while demonstrating high ethical standards.
- Must be able to work well in a fast-paced team environment.
- Ability to identify and resolve issues.
- Strong team player and self-starter.
- SAP experience is required.
- BlackLine experience a plus.
