Who We're Looking For

Project Manager at Level IV are individual contributors with expertise level job scope and works on projects with significant impact to the company or are the most complicated cross-functional projects. This job is responsible for managing (Global and Domestic) product development programs that range from the hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars in revenue. This position primarily manages such programs which consist of multiple complex projects under the product umbrella.

This involves working with cross-functional teams, executive members as well as external customers. All are focused on the delivery of the program’s product or products from requirements to a finished state (production) for our external customers. The scope of these programs is typically larger and more complex than individual projects that are not associated with a program.

Some of What You'll Do

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the successful execution and control of the program and project from initiation through delivery, organizing cross-functional activities to ensure completion of the program and project deliverables on time and within budget.

  • Requires managing and validating the development and tracking of program and complex project plans including scope, schedule, cost, risks, estimates, deliverables and dependencies.  

  • Ensure conformance to Software Development Lifecycle for new product and enhancement development efforts.

  • Responsible for performing risk assessments and managing risks as well as formal change control to the project and/or program scope through effective change control management.

  • Responsible for determining resource requirements, identifying and acquiring qualified team members to meet program and project deliverables.  Leads cross-functional program and project team activities, providing leadership, guidance and coaching to the team, as well as leading steering committee meetings as needed to address issues.  Primary point of contact for both the project team and executive management as appropriate.

  • Exercises independent judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

  • Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments.

  • Depending on the nature of the program and projects, manage milestones, schedules and dependencies with external customers and/or vendors.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, team building, facilitation, conflict management, influence management, and negotiation skills are required to effectively lead the program and project towards attaining its goals.

  • Strong working knowledge of software development process/methodologies and telecommunications, wireless and wireline industries technologies is required.

  • Proficient in creating project plans in Clarity – Project Workbench and proficient in using MS Word, Powerpoint, Excel and Outlook.

  • Strong working knowledge of standard project management discipline philosophy and the ability to apply this philosophy within Syniverse organizational framework is required at a program and project level.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills are required to effectively interface and communicate with all levels of management.

  • PMP certification is strongly desired.

  • Requires a minimum of 12 years of project management experience.

  • BS/BA in business management, computer science, information systems or equivalent work experience.
