Position Description  

As a Network Security Engineer at Zen you will be supporting the mission of a progressive Federal agency You will perform network services from network design through implementation, maintenance, and upgrading of existing networks. Selected candidates will be expected to analyze design, specifications, and related documents. Analyze network characteristics (e.g. traffic connect time, transmission speeds, packet sizes and throughput); and troubleshoot problems and recommend procurement of and/or modifications to network components. The successful candidate will also demonstrate the ability to identify the infrastructure's status and opportunities to collapse, simplify and optimize the access and distribution layer switches.   

Requirements: 

• Proficient in configuring, securing, and creating custom rule sets for: Cisco Nexus, Flexpod, IOS, Identity Services Engine (ISE), Cisco Sourcefire and any other additional networking technologies introduced by the Government during the duration of the contract
• Specialized experience deploying security products (Firewalls, IDS/IPS devices StealthWatch, FirePOWER, Cisco ISE, ForeScout CounterACT, etc.).
• Prior experience utilizing Cisco Prime, Orion Solarwinds or another configuration management tool to create enforceable configuration templates
• Able to create Assessment reports to simplify and modernize current access and distribution layer switches
• Experience with documenting the methodology for identifying, assessing, and managing technology for use and in use in the IT infrastructure, systems, and by services
• Able to provide subject matter expertise on matters related to application, data, physical and network layer of the infrastructure and in the areas of network security, DMZ configuration, PKI, firewall rules to manage and maintain security and network connections made between system to system and system to user.
• Proficient in design, implementation, management of system virtualization to include servers, switches, routers and other infrastructure related devices

Must Have Skills: 

• Experience supporting DHS Agencies.
• Ability to demonstrate and explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences?
• Able to clearly communicate with both customers and teammates and provide recommendations for improvements to existing software applications?

Years of Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in network engineering and operations
• 3+ years specialized experience deploying security products (Firewalls, IDS/IPS devices StealthWatch, FirePOWER, Cisco ISE, ForeScout CounterACT, etc.).

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related combination of education and experience technical field is required.

Certifications: Contractors shall have ONE of the following active certifications:

• Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Security
• CCIE Wireless
• CCIE Data Center
• CCIE Routing & Switching
• Cisco Certified Network Professional Security (CCNP Security)
• OR other comparable certification or experience, which must be approved in advance by the Government Program Manager on a case-by-case basis
