Job description

sonnen Inc. is seeking a highly driven, dynamic and experienced Senior Marketing Manager with a strong background in digital media and partner management to lead our marketing efforts for North America.   As the Marketing Manager for sonnen Inc. your primary responsibilities will be to plan, develop and execute digital marketing strategies that grow sonnen’s brand and increase revenue through active customer engagement.  This role requires deep channel, market and PR experience, along with the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.   The ideal candidate will possess creative thinking, proactively take initiative, strategically develop and manage multiple projects across customer channels, manage and execute tactical initiatives, provide data and measurement of key initiatives, and coordinate cross-departmental work in line with sonnen’s Marketing strategies, and company-wide Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).

 

The Marketing Manager role includes, but is not limited to the following keystone work responsibilities: 

 

  • Digital Campaign Management:Oversee the planning, execution, and optimization of digital campaigns across various channels, including social media, email marketing, SEO/SEM, and content marketing.  Specifically,
    • Plan and manage the various social media platforms to grow followers and increase engagement
    • Regularly build and deliver engaging video content, providing impactful and relevant content to target audiences via socials and other mediums 
    • Ensure consistent messaging across all communications that clearly articulate sonnen’s value proposition to both installers and end consumers -- taking complex technical information and translating it into meaningful, easily digestible content
    • Monitor campaign budgets and provide ROI plus performance data back to VP of Channel Sales and Marketing
    • Plan and manage digital advertising campaigns
    • Plan and manage SEO campaigns to improve website performance

 

  • Brand Development: Enhance sonnen’s brand identity and value propositions through effective online presence and storytelling, ensuring consistency across all digital platforms.
  • Public Relations + Event Planning:
    • Plan and execute promotional events, trade shows, and webinars to enhance sonnen’s visibility, and foster relationships with partners and cusumers
    • Effective promotion of sonnen in the media, which includes building relevant, substantive messaging for press releases, while driving press outreach campaigns via existing PR firm in order to maximize results for sonnen
    • Coordinate with various advertising and media experts to improve marketing and PR results.

 

  • Cross-Collaboration: Work closely with channel and Virtual Power Plant (VPP) sales teams, product development, and service teams to ensure cohesive marketing efforts that support overall sonnen objectives.

 

  • Partner Support:  
    • Provide marketing consultation, and leadership to members of the sonnen partner networks, specifically sonnen Select Partners and Flagship partners
    • Develop and share successful partner marketing “playbooks” to support sonnen’s contractor network in their business growth.   
    • Regular engagement with internal and external sonnen partner sales teams to organize training events and collaborate on best ways to promote and co-brand for local and national industry events.

 

  • Market Research: Stay on top of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging digital marketing technologies to maintain a competitive edge and effectively communicate sonnen’s unique value propositions.

 

  • Additional marketing duties include:
    • Conceptualize, build, and execute digital marketing campaigns, including creative development, targeting segmentation, and campaign performance analysis
    • Build sonnen Inc.’s marketing strategic Objectives, Key Results (OKRs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to support the company’s overall strategic plan and the VP of Channel Sales and Marketing 
    • Develop and independently manage the implementation of marketing strategies for new products, new target markets, and new marketing channels in partnership with marketing team leadership. 
    • Analyze digital marketing to recognize trends or outliers that will help improve Sonnen marketing campaigns and launch performance.
    • Review current marketing initiatives for weaknesses and develop solutions within budget constraints, including automation to streamline workload. 
  • Manage relationships with executive internal stakeholders and provide them with regular business updates, including quarterly reporting on KPIs to team leaders to ensure Marketing and sonnen, Inc. achieve their annual strategic goals. 
    • Collaborate with internal sales teams to brainstorm new and innovative growth strategies

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or a related field 
  • A minimum of 6 years’ experience in digital marketing/digital media
  • Demonstrated marketing expertise and skills in B2B and B2C marketing
  • Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision making
  • Proven experience in managing projects simultaneously across different verticals
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, specifically with learning key sonnen messaging and value propositions, and articulating them in well-positioned written work
  • Experience in managing both internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently to meet OKRs and KPIs 
  • Demonstrated success as a Marketing Manager, measured by the ability to independently manage marketing channels by developing and completing projects that grow sonnen revenue and contribute to increasing sonnen’s brand recognition. 
  • Demonstrated success in independently working with external vendors and internal departments to complete projects on time and within budget that support both the US and global marketing goals. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work with Senior leadership and manage internal Marketing Coordinators and Specialists to ensure they achieve KPIs. 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A passion for the clean-tech and renewable energy industries and a mission to bring about the necessary "energy transition."
  • Strong passion for learning, creativity, and enthusiasm.
  • Candidates with prior experience in solar or energy industries, high technology, or conventional building trades such as electrical, roofing, and HVAC are preferred. 
  • Strong understanding and background of the renewables industry, along with a willingness and ability to learn new, groundbreaking technologies 
  • Keen interest in technology, renewable energy, and energy storage.
