Overview:
Planned Systems International (PSI) is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Software Tester to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for the planning, execution, and management of comprehensive testing strategies to ensure the quality and functionality of our software products. You will work closely with our development team to identify and resolve defects and improve the overall user experience.
Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and test data, analyzing system and functional requirements.
- Manage and support multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deliverables meet functional and design specifications.
- Configure and manage your local testing environment.
- Utilize Jira for defect tracking and reporting, logging issues, and facilitating meetings with business analysts and developers for defect resolution.
- Participate in the creation of use case diagrams, activity diagrams, and other technical documentation to support testing efforts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Develop and execute test plans.
- Identify and report bugs and defects.
- Work with developers to resolve issues.
- Participate in code reviews and design discussions.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest software testing tools and technologies.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in software testing.
- Experience with Jira.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Desired Qualifications:
- Currently holds a DHS Public Trust Clearance.
- Certified in Lean Software Development, Kanban, Scrum and other Agile processes.
- Department Homeland Security (DHS) Experience.
