Job description

Provides basic to moderate functional and operational support for assigned claims department. Support can include, but is not limited to, maintaining claim records, processing claim payments, preparing a variety of forms and materials and assisting with assigned Claims systems tasks. Works with customers, vendors, attorneys, adjusters and other to help resolve issues. Provides administrative support to technical staff which may include: creating documents, forms, reviewing incoming mail, and sending out letters.

This position will be staffed at our Davenport, IA office.

What You'll Do:

  • Our Claims Technicians provide technical support to claims representatives on a variety of tasks such as claims forms completion, processing of claims payments and entering data into claims files and systems.  In addition, you’ll;

  • Complete tasks as presented to you by the claim representatives or claims manager

  • Prepare forms and claim materials for processing and enter data into automated system

  • Process claim checks, verifying for accuracy in amounts and release for mailing 

  • Document all activities in the claim file

  • Receive and make outgoing phone calls. Contacts may include claimants, medical providers, state agencies, and internal claim and medical review staff


What It Takes:

  • Clerical skills including keyboarding, filing, and experience with computers

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products beneficial

  • Associates Degree or equivalent work experience

  • Ability to work within time deadlines, maintain confidentiality, and work with detail and accuracy

  • Strong human relation, communication, and organizational skills desired

  • Ability to adapt to frequent changes in workflow and regulations.
