About the role
As a senior business analyst, you play a vital role of translator and facilitator between Business, IT and Quality Assurance. You will be part of a small squad with the sole purpose of creating and enhancing the functionalities of our IFRS 17 Engine to the point where that product is the best product, not just in the insurance field, but the best product out there, period.
What you'll do here:
Execute the month-end validation of IFRS 17 results and present IFRS 17 variance analysis results to business.
Perform production defect Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and own the handover process to IT.
Support the Product Owner in handling their backlogs and prioritize work to be done.
Support the testing team by assessing test strategy and review test results for production defects.
Support SAS functional requirements workshops and understand design and solution of project deliverables.
Assist with project impact analysis, effort estimates, and providing defect details to the Product Owner.
Creation and execution of custom SQL queries to extract SAS reports for adhoc requests and to support the testing team.
Drive initiatives to align, streamline and automate processes.
Participate in continuous improvement of deliverables based on the changing needs of internal and external partners.
Build a solid, reusable and thorough system documentation to be used by any stakeholders.
What you bring to the table:
Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, mathematics, economics, business management, accounting or with any combination of equivalent education and experience.
Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
Accounting Background and IFRS17 experience.
SAS, Proc SQL, or equivalent.
Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, PowerPivot, conditional formulas, lookups).
Ability to communicate technical terminologies in non-technical language and vice versa.
Strong analytical skills, insight and discipline.
Leadership skills, team player, independent and efficient.
Can interact with a variety of people at all levels of the organization, including management and certain external contributors.
Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (PowerBI, PowerQuery) is an asset.
Knowledge of financial systems and IT infrastructure (Data Warehouses, SAS, ERP, etc) is an asset.
Experience and knowledge in the insurance field is an asset.
Project experiences in Scrum mode is an asset.
No Canadian work experience required, but authorization to work in Canada required.
