Job Description Summary
The Head of Product and Partner Solutions is responsible for the World Financial Group (WFG) product/portfolio curation, oversight, governance, and due diligence planning and execution activities. The WFG product offering extends across North America and is comprised of protection, accumulation, and wealth management products manufactured or managed by WFG’s affiliates and industry leading third party manufacturers and asset management firms. This role will oversee WFG’s strategic partner relationships, contractual agreements, network optimization and product governance in the US and Canada, supporting over 75,000 agents and financial professionals.
Lead executive interactions with control functions (Compliance, Legal, Finance, Risk), Marketing and Communication, and field engagement leadership to ensure firm-wide success and a cohesive presence to agents and field leaders. Work closely with the President WFG & SVP Transamerica and the Chief Operating Officer-WFG to ensure that the products and services of strategic partners are delivered within WFG’s continuously improving agent, client and advisor experience, in concert with WFG’s digital and transformation strategies and deployed seamlessly into WFG’s risk management and regulatory compliance framework.
Job Description
Responsibilities
- Lead planning, execution, and management of product portfolios for WFG and Transamerica Financial Advisors (TFA) businesses (e.g. product roadmaps, product due diligence and implementation, and portfolio management.) Take ownership of the product portfolios, and associated impacts to sales, earnings, and profitability metrics.
- Deliver value to the field force and WFG brand by optimizing the product experience and maximizing in-force policy holder retention and growth.
- Lead, coach, and manage employees in these functions: agency, brokerage and advisory product portfolio management; model asset management and manager selection; product due diligence; strategic partnerships and network development.
- Evaluate, create, and manage product portfolios for maximum profitability and oversee product due diligence activities. Screen and evaluate due diligence requests; determine demand, product potential, profitability, and feasibility. Advocate and consult with partner product development leadership on modifications and enhancements to improve product competitiveness and profitability.
- Optimize strategic partner relationships (carriers, technology, etc.) to leverage success and make decisions on the allocation of resources based on growth strategies.
- Select and deploy products and client solutions providing consistency and effectiveness in service levels and support levels across product lines for partners and customers.
- Review new and existing partners and carriers’ products to ensure alignment with WFG strategy and to meet customer, sales, regulatory, and channel requirements.
- Deliver optimal portfolio of products/programs for TFA’s Wealth Management business. Develop and oversee investment policy research and oversight governance, technology solutions, third-party platforms, and due diligence of third-party money managers and programs.
- Negotiate and/or approve third party contracts (selling agreements and technology). Participate, as needed, in contract negotiations and management of contractual obligations.
- Lead the team in setting and achieving annual goals and targets to grow and transform WFG into a more valuable, key strategic asset for Transamerica.
- Promote efficiency and quality in support services and enhance relationship building across multiple product lines and departments (e.g. marketing and customer experience, distribution, operations, compliance, legal, pricing, etc.).
- Serve as a catalyst for change to implement WFG’s strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a business field or equivalent experience
- 15 years of industry experience, including leadership roles and relationship management
- FINRA Series 6, 26, and 63 licenses
- Life & Health insurance license
- Strong knowledge of product portfolios and due diligence functions. Demonstrated success in portfolio management and modern product delivery processes including ideation, complex pipeline prioritization, value management, capacity planning, voice of the customer, etc.
- In-depth knowledge of the brokerage industry and wholesale/marketing organizations
- Strategic and critical thinker with strong business acumen and solid negotiation skills to drive new and maintain current business
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills to deliver important messages to key internal and external stakeholders, and diverse groups
- Solid relationship building skills and the ability to influence outcomes

- Knowledge of Transamerica products
- Experience working with World Financial Group, Inc.
Working Conditions
- Office or hybrid office/remote environment
- Moderate travel to attend meetings with product providers, company and/or industry meetings

The Salary for this position generally ranges between $215,000-$285,000 annually. This range is an estimate, based on potential qualifications and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.
Additionally, this position is typically eligible for an Annual Bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at the Company’s discretion.
