We are a mid-sized, collaborative agency seeking a Senior Associate (SA) to join our Media team as a multicultural media expert. Our commitment to health equity drives everything we do, ensuring that our media strategies reach and resonate with diverse communities, including Black, Hispanic/Latino, AAPI, and LGBTQIA+ audiences.

As a Senior Associate on our team, you will partner with the VP of Media to develop strategies and execute media plans for clients in Public Affairs, Pharmaceuticals, and Biotech. You’ll be instrumental in creating integrated media programs, securing culturally relevant coverage, guiding junior team members, and collaborating with passionate, talented colleagues.

You should have a deep understanding of media relations, from strategic planning to securing impactful coverage and supporting spokespeople.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the development of daily account deliverables, managing projects and mentoring junior staff.
  • Collaborate with teams to produce high-quality work, including media strategies, pitches, backgrounders, talking points, and presentations.
  • Think creatively to secure impactful media coverage, advising clients on inclusive strategies.
  • Participate in agency-wide initiatives, including marketing and new business efforts.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • 5-6 years of media relations experience, with a focus on multicultural media. Experience with Public Affairs, Pharma, and Biotech clients is preferred.
  • Proven track record in implementing multicultural media strategies and securing coverage in outlets that elevate underrepresented voices.
  • Strong knowledge of multicultural audiences, behaviors, and trends, with the ability to counsel clients on authentic engagement.
  • Established media contacts across diverse outlets, with health media experience being a plus.
  • A dynamic and creative approach, with a keen understanding of media trends and DEI issues.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and client management skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects while ensuring timely deliverables and clear communication.
  • Experience creating materials for media training, including for spokespeople, key opinion leaders, patients, or celebrities.
  • Familiarity with tools like MuckRack and Cision.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and committed to fostering an inclusive workplace.
