Job description

Responsibilities:

Noblis MSD’s mission is to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCPD) in their missions to enable research, development, test and evaluation, acquisition, engineering, systems integration, in-service and fleet engineering with cybersecurity, comprehensive logistics, and life-cycle savings. Noblis MSD is seeking a Submarine Navigation Specialist with an electronics background to support U.S. Navy Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) programs. You will provide engineering and technical assistance.

 

The Submarine Navigation Specialist is a full-time position, and will consist of a combination of hybrid work, and onsite work at Philadelphia Navy Yard with travel to Submarine Fleet concentration areas.

 

  • The position will facilitate testing and fielding of Navy Electronic Chart Display Information System and Voyage Management System. 
  • Analyze and develop system requirements
  • Develop technical requirements for ship configuration and Build out of Materials
  • Develop technical manuals
  • Collaborate on fleet implementation and fielding plans
  • Develop and execute test plans
  • Travel to fleet concentration areas to complete System Operability Verification Testing
  • Train fleet personnel on system enhancements.  

 

This is a hybrid position with the opportunity to work from home.

 

Required Qualifications:
  • Previously qualified as submarine navigation watch stander
  • Previously qualified on submarine electronic navigation equipment
  • Supporting and troubleshooting networked, IP-based systems; both onsite and via distance support
  • Travel up to 20%
  • Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance required
  • Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of experience or 9 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
  • Will be required to get a Sec+ within 6 months of hire, will provide training

 

Desired Qualifications:
  • Submarine Assistant Navigator (14NV or TI21x) qualification
  • Submarine Electronics Technician
  • Experience working on engineering drawings
  • General Windows OS experience (Install/Configure/Troubleshoot)

Salary at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and are based on full time status. Part time staff receive a prorated salary based on regularly scheduled hours. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements), and is just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package for employees.
