As the Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting Manager, you will independently lead our financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance with US GAAP and international regulations. In this individual contributor role, you’ll be the go-to expert for audits, new accounting standards, and providing insights to senior leadership that directly influence our financial strategy. The preferred location for this role is near our Bethesda, MD office, but we are also open to candidates located within the Eastern time zone.
What You'll DoOversee the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring full compliance with US GAAP and international regulatory requirements. Coordinate with external auditors on domestic and international audits to ensure accurate and timely financial statements that adhere to regulatory standards. Lead technical accounting research and implement new accounting standards, serving as the subject-matter expert. Manage valuations in partnership with external firms, and handle purchase accounting workbooks and journal entries related to M&A activities. Develop and implement comprehensive financial reporting policies and procedures to enhance accuracy and streamline processes. Offer guidance and training on complex accounting matters, assisting the finance team in adopting new standards. Collaborate across departments to support financial reporting and accounting initiatives. Prepare and present insightful financial analyses and reports to senior management and stakeholders. What Makes You a Great FitBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.CPA certification (or significant progress toward completion) is required.5+ years of experience in financial statement preparation and external audits, with a blend of public, preferably Big 4, and corporate accounting experience.Strong knowledge of US GAAP required. Experience with IFRS a plus.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong attention to detail and highly organized.Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset.Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems, with preference for NetSuite experience.Disclosures:
