Description

The People Business Partner (PBP) is a strategic partner for the organization who will provide expertise and support to managers and employees on a wide range of People Operations-related issues. This position requires the ability to partner with different levels of management and the People Operations team in a fast-paced environment to align People Operations strategies with business objectives. The PBP will be responsible for driving People Operations initiatives, providing guidance and advice to employees and managers, managing employee relations and driving People Operations programs and policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with leaders and employees to provide guidance and support on People Operations-related issues.
  • Coach employees and managers on People Operations related topics as needed and required taking into account relevant organizational policies, employment law, and People Operations best practices.
  • Partner with managers and the People Operations team to develop and implement People Operations initiatives that align with business objectives.
  • Work closely with managers on strategies related to team engagement, morale, productivity and retention.
  • Provide guidance and advice to managers and employees on conflict resolution.
  • Guide and coach managers through the progressive discipline process, including the development and delivery of performance improvement plans and/or progressive disciplinary strategies on employee relations issues up to and including termination.
  • Perform and coordinate activities related to compensation, including maintenance of pay bands and assisting with annual compensation planning process.
  • Manage administration of total rewards and recognition programs, including annual benefits renewals and annual enrollment.
  • Support the development and implementation of company forms, policies and procedures in accordance with organizational goals, industry trends and/or employment laws or regulations.
  • Mentor managers on employee development best practices.
  • Partner with leadership on workforce plans, and to develop succession plans.
  • Suggest new processes and policies to continually improve efficiency of the People Operations department and organization, to improve the employee experience.
  • Analyze People Operations trends and metrics, providing recommendations as a result of the data insights.
  • Provide support to the recruitment team with sourcing and interviewing, as necessary.
  • Support the introduction, training and participation in People Operations related programs, such as Performance Management, Annual Compensation Review, etc.

  • Promote People Operations best practices and maintain a high level of knowledge regarding applicable employment laws to help keep the organization in compliance.

Skills, Knowledge And Expertise

  • SHRM or CPHR designation is required
  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree majoring in People Operations
  • 7+ years of experience in a related People Operations role
  • Knowledge of legislation as it relates to People Operations
  • Comfortable in a fast-moving environment, flexible to change, independent and highly self-motivated
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including active listening skills and a clear and open communication style. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Effective organizational and time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities from several stakeholders
