100% Remote - Must reside in the US full time

Brandt Information Services, the leading provider of SaaS technology and marketing services for state wildlife and parks agencies, is paving the way to better communicate and serve the public through their journey to go camping, fishing, boating, hunting, or hiking on public land. At Brandt, we build and improve upon the customer journey for public users buying campground reservations, fishing and hunting licenses, boat registrations, educational event tickets, and the list goes on. State funds generated go back into conservation and outdoor recreation improvements.


Brandt is seeking a Release Engineer with 2-3 years’ experience in software release engineering.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the deployment process for our software solutions.
  • Serve as a Scrum Master for teams – including supporting sprint activities, tracking team capacity, tracking impediments, and monitoring sprint goals.
  • Develop release plans and schedules in accordance with customer priorities and company resources, ensuring minimal disruption to services.
  • Create dashboards and reports to track sprint progress and release readiness. Monitor outputs to communicate status information to leadership and support efforts to mitigate risks.
  • Create and maintain status pages and knowledge bases to communicate up-to-date information to stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain process documentation for deployment activities.
  • Coordinate with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure timely and successful deployment activities and environment management.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve deployment issues as they arise.
  • Support DevOps team deployment automation efforts to streamline activities.
  • Maintain and manage lower environments, including development, testing, and staging environments.
  • Coordinate and execute production releases in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Serve as Deployment Lead to execute production releases for assigned deployment teams.


Qualifications Required:

  • At least 2-3 years of experience in software release engineering or related roles.
  • Proven experience managing and overseeing deployment processes for software solutions in a production environment.
  • Experience with managing Azure pipelines and SQL databases required.
  • Experience coordinating with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure successful deployments.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve deployment issues efficiently.
  • Hands-on experience implementing and maintaining deployment automation pipelines.
  • Experience managing lower environments such as development, testing, and staging, ensuring they reflect the latest changes from development.
  • Experience coordinating and executing production releases in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Prior experience developing release plans and schedules, considering customer priorities and resource constraints.
  • Proficiency in deployment automation tools and CI/CD technologies – specifically Azure pipelines and tools.
  • Strong understanding of version control systems, branching strategies, and code integration processes.
  • Solid understanding of Agile methodologies.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and a focus on ensuring the accuracy and integrity of deployment processes.
  • Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools to track release progress and identify potential risks.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, especially Azure, is a plus.


Location:

This position is anticipated to be a full-time remote position. The work must be performed within the continental United States. The standard work hours for this position will follow Eastern Standard Time. All equipment required to perform the job responsibilities will be provided by Brandt.
