Position Focus
The Portfolio Associate will be responsible for the management of the grant and contract application and post award process. This position is responsible for coordination of all grant and fellowship pre/post-award processes and deadlines. Responsible for providing appropriate guidance on compliance matters during management of portfolio and collaborates with account holders to maintain such compliance. The Portfolio Associate will span across various financial components while combining specialized training, unique job assignments and interactive experiences to equip you with exceptional technical, financial and business skills.
Essential Duties
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Identifies trends and variances through the development of reports such as forecast and trend analyses. Analyzes budgets to ensure appropriate charging of expenses and integration of data, analyze data and develop complex analytical reports for principal investigators including trend analysis, forecast future financial scenarios, develop long range projections, and variance analyses. 2. Budget Development: Develops proposals and budgets for grant and contract submissions; coordinate with partnering institutions. Help to ensure compliance with sponsor regulations and University policies and procedures. 3. Compliance and Risk Management: Reviews, interprets and effectively applies sponsor policies on a variety of topics including cost allowability, budget management and other award management activities to ensure compliance with sponsoring agency requirements and University policies and procedures. Planning, organizing and prioritizing actions to ensure compliance across multiple awards and investigators' portfolios. 4. Effective Finance Partner: Interacts with faculty and internal and external contacts, such as the School of Medicine, Grant & Contract Administration and Grant & Contract Financial Administration, and granting agencies by helping manage the internal pre award proposal process and the management of sponsored funding. 5. May perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education And Experience
Bachelor's degree required. Degrees received in Accounting, Business or Finance preferred. 0-2 years of experience with demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced environment.
