Working/Functional Title

Sr. Communications & Marketing Officer/S

Position Summary

Seeking seasoned marketing and communications professional to lead the marketing and communications unit of the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. Successful candidates will direct overall overall integrated marketing and communications strategies for the college including but not limited to strategic planning, traditional and digital marketing strategy and implementation, internal and external communications, brand management, public affairs, research publicity, crisis communication, state and national media relations, social media, advertising, media buying, and media production. In addition, this person will serve as spokesperson and CIO for the College of Human Medicine.

Minimum Requirements

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in journalism, telecommunications, marketing, advertising, public relations, or related field; eight or more years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in medical education/health care/health science communications, including marketing, media relations, crisis communications management and strategic planning, demonstrated leadership and project management skills; or experience in a field related to area of employment; management and supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
