What You'll Do...

Overview:

H&R Block, the nation’s top tax preparation provider, seeking tax-minded individuals passionate about helping people virtually. As a Senior Virtual Tax Specialist at H&R Block, you will be crucial in providing expert tax advice and support to clients remotely. In this position, you will leverage your tax knowledge and experience to deliver exceptional customer service while working in a virtual environment.

Your primary responsibilities will involve researching, analyzing, evaluating, and answering tax-related questions along with answering questions about our online H&R Block platform. We’re looking for team members, including (but not limited to) tax preparers, Enrolled Agents, CPAs, attorneys, and others, who can put their research and client service skills to work.

In this hands-on role, you will assist taxpayers via chat, phone, or one - way video chat, sharing your tax and program expertise to help them get the most out of their tax prep experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Chat and screen share with clients who have questions about their taxes.
  • Assist clients in navigating our online tax prep program and identifying technical issues.
  • Monitor and assist a Tier I group with their tax/program-related questions.
  • Help your clients feel confident about their tax prep by providing support and research to help them get their tax returns filed.
  • Research and learn about numerous federal and state tax law issues, regulations, and procedures.
  • Learn and utilize our tax preparation products, research resources, and client service tools to provide frontline support to our clients.
  • Put your problem-solving abilities and strategies to use in investigating quality assurance.
  • Share your insights and best practices with your teammates.
  • Be ready to take on new and exciting roles and responsibilities as they arise!

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Two years of tax experience (including coursework and accounting experience)
  • Two years of customer service experience.
  • Ability to work remotely in a dedicated and quiet workspace.
  • Minimum internet speed of 10mbps upload and download.

Education:


  • Associate’s degree in a related field or the equivalent through a combination of education and related work experience.

Pay Range Information

The pay range for this position is listed below. Local minimum wage laws apply. This information is posted pursuant to local requirements to provide applicants with information about what they might be eligible to receive. Individual pay decisions will depend on job-related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed.

Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short-term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan.

Qualifying associates can enroll themselves and/or their eligible dependents in medical and prescription drug coverage; can participate in the H&R Block Retirement Savings Plan (401(k) Plan), the Employee Assistance Program, (virtual) fitness center programs, and the associate discount program; are automatically enrolled in Business Travel Accident Insurance; and receive Associate Tax Prep benefit.
