Job description

We are actively seeking a Founding Data Lead to join our client's team in the healthtech domain. This position is ideal for someone with a deep interest in healthcare and a solid understanding of data and its impact on better and more informed decision-making. The ideal candidate thrives in a start-up environment and collaborating with engineers, designers, product managers, and users. This individual should be capable of setting-up the data infrastructure, processes and playbooks from scratch, and eventually build out and lead a data team. This hybrid position reports to the CEO directly, and is based in New York City.


Responsibilities

  • Provide thought leadership in data science and analytics contributing to the organization's data strategy and vision.
  • Communicate complex data analyses to non-technical stakeholders enabling data-driven decision-making.
  • Develop, deploy, and validate predictive models, algorithms, and machine learning solutions to address business challenges.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into actionable data insights and pipeline management.
  • Implement data governance, quality standards, and best practices to ensure data accuracy and security.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations, employing best practices for data handling and storage.


Qualifications

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in data science with a focus on developing and implementing data-driven solutions in a healthtech or healthcare environment.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL.
  • Expertise in machine learning algorithms, statistical analysis, and predictive modeling.
  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, and data pipeline architecture.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Metabase) to create dashboards and reports.
  • Knowledge of data privacy and security standards, with experience implementing compliance measures.
  • Excellent communication skills and be able to grow and lead a team eventually.
  • Prior start-up experience is a bonus.
  • Comfortable working in-office 4 days a week.

Additional Information

Compensation: The base salary offered is up to $200,000 with additional yearly equity.
