What you’ll be doing...

Your focus will be on ensuring the proper inventory control measures are in place at the forward warehouses. This includes inbound receipts, inbound prioritization, inventory reconciliation, capacity, inbound and inventory discrepancy resolution and SOX inventory control practices. This individual will also act as the liaison between OEM's and the forward warehouse team. The Associate Director will be responsible for establishing, monitoring and putting corrective actions plans in place for all SLA metrics.

  • Owning the team delivering new products to our customers timely, within budget, and with outstanding quality and reliability.

  • Conducting project retrospectives and compiling lessons learned and integrated into processes and templates.

  • Analyzing and interpreting ECO impact on Supply Chain schedule, costs and quality.

  • Using customer data to influence development schedule and features on new products.

  • Facilitating meetings, building positive relationships with partners, suppliers and management, and developing new product introduction process documentation and metrics.

  • Managing the inbound receiving processes, ensuring inbound receipts are posted timely and our 3PL partners execute to their contractual obligations.

  • Managing inbound product discrepancies and leading the resolution of these issues by collaborating with our 3PL partners and OEM’s (Original equipment manufacturers).

  • Strategically creating corrective action plans with our 3PL partners by Analyzing and trending data related to receiving discrepancies.  Partner with the logistics vendor compliance team, planning teams and OEM’s to ensure actions plans and KPI targets are met.

  • Scheduling and leading the weekly quality calls with the 3PL partners.  Review weekly discrepancy performance and create strategic initiatives to drive down inbound discrepancy percentages for all OEM’s.

  • Managing all warehouse discrepancy reporting to ensure all reported discrepancies are properly identified and logged. Provide leadership with regular updates on trends and progress.

  • Ensuring daily system reconciliations are performed and Verizon inventory systems accurately reflect on-hand and reserved inventory.

  • Setting the strategy and directive required when on-hand inventory discrepancies are identified.  The strategy needs to be actionable and collaborative with the 3PL’s and OEM’s.

  • Managing inventory movement transactions both virtually within sites and physically to internal and external locations.

  • Providing customer support through daily resolution of orders in fallout status due to inventory-related issues.

  • Performing on-site audits of 3PL cycle count performance and processes.

  • Facilitating SOX Audit Reporting - ensure the 3PL's meet the necessary requirements.

  • Track/trend inventory-related KPI’s, promptly identify undesirable trends, and recommend solutions for areas of concern.

  • NPI & Iconic Launch Management - Support pre-order and backorder management functions

  • Communicating & coordinating with our 3PL partners and Device Marketing to develop a preorder/backorder drop plan.

  • Ensuring 3PL partners are aligned to the drop plan and can execute processing volumes.

  • Managing vendor relations including product and label testing for new items.

  • Liaison with CORE/CARE groups to communicate preorder/backorders misses and the necessary communication to the customers.

You’ll need to have:

  • Eight or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

  • Experience Supply Chain and Product Development. 

  • Experience leading teams. 

  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • MBA or Master’s degree in engineering or supply chain management.

  • Leadership experience.

  • Knowledge of Supply Chain and Product Development best practices.

  • Supply Chain or Project Management professional certification.

  • Supplier management experience.

  • Lean Six Sigma experience.

  • Sourcing experience.

  • Commodity management experience.

  • Experience reading engineering drawings.

  • Experience with SAP and Agile PLM.

  • Knowledge of common needs and challenges of the business.
