Opportunity Overview:

We are in search of a proficient and enthusiastic Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer to become a valuable member of our dynamic team and play a key role in our mission of automating existing data infrastructure gaps and converting data into actionable insights. As a BI Engineer, you will collaborate with our team of skilled developers, product owners to construct reporting products, while upholding best practices and standards. You will report to the Senior Manager of Business Intelligence and join a Cohere team driven by a collective commitment to supporting healthcare providers and patients. What you will do:

  • Data Modeling: Assist in designing and developing data models that support reporting and analytics needs. Work on building efficient, scalable data structures within the data warehouse to ensure seamless data retrieval and accurate insights.
  • Data Analysis: Work with large datasets, querying databases to support business reporting needs and ad-hoc data analysis.
  • Report and Dashboard Development: Create, maintain, and improve business reports, dashboards, and visualizations using BI tools like Tableau.
  • Collaboration with Stakeholders: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, marketing, finance) to gather requirements, ensure data accuracy, and deliver business insights.
  • Data Quality and Validation: Support data validation efforts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency in the data used for analysis and reporting.
  • Automation and Optimization: Identify opportunities for process automation and contribute to the improvement of data operations and reporting efficiency.

Your background & requirements:

  • Passionate about improving the U.S. healthcare system and helping ensure every patient receives the best care possible
  • Self-starter, able to work independently, able to succeed in a fast-paced, high intensity start-up environment
  • Familiarity with SQL and relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
  • Exposure to BI tools (preferably Tableau) is a plus.
  • Experience with programming languages (Python, R) is an advantage.
  • Knowledge on AWS tools including Athena, Airflow and Sagemaker is an advantage
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with large datasets.
  • Prior experience in healthcare and life sciences is a plus, but is not required
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science Mathematics, or another quantitative or engineering field

The compensation rate for this position is $30/hour.
