Overview

We are seeking a Tax Compliance Analyst to join our team. This position will be responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax compliance and will assist in the preparation and filing of various state documentation and reporting regulations, as well as provide analytical support to the accounting team. This is a part time position. Candidates who reside in the Denver metro area will be given priority consideration but this can be a remote role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax reporting in a timely manner.
  • Research and analyze tax issues to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations across numerous states.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax provisions and support regular audits.
  • Prepare financial reporting and tracking for compliance.
  • Maintain accurate tax documentation and records in accordance with established policies.
  • Communicate with federal and state tax authorities as needed, addressing any inquiries or issues that arise.
  • Analyze financial transactions to identify any potential tax implications.
  • Provide support in tax planning initiatives and development.
  • Stay updated on changes to tax laws and advise management accordingly.
  • Act as company expert on reporting, regulations and compliance matters.
  • Create and manage financial data with tools like Excel, Paylocity, Salesforce, and Fieldglass.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in tax compliance or related financial roles in state reporting and compliance.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Prior experience with auditing and financial data reporting.
  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Required Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are necessary.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal is important.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines is a must.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software tools is required.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills are preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite is necessary.
  • The ability to author, deliver and provide training of material to all levels of constituents.

Preferred Experience:

  • CPA certification or working towards it is a plus.
  • Experience in corporate environments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with tax compliance and state reporting regulations is preferred.

Compensation

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Colorado, Sand Cherry Associates is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the State of Colorado and takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and delivery model. This position has a compensation range of $35-$45/hour. Years of experience, level of education, geographic location, unique skills/qualifications for the specific role and potential certifications can be key factors in the final compensation for this role.
