Job description

LightFeather is currently seeking a seasoned Chief Architect to join our innovative technology team. This pivotal role involves leading strategic development and ensuring high standards of execution in O&M Tier 3 break-fix support alongside Agile software development projects within our enterprise IT environment.

This Position is Remote.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary technical resource for developing and implementing solution strategies, playing a key role in mentoring and guiding other technical staff.
  • Successfully execute and manage O&M Tier 3 break-fix support strategies and Agile software development initiatives across various applications and interfaces.
  • Resolve technical conflicts between Senior IT System Solutions Architects (Cloud, Infrastructure, Database), ensuring harmonious and effective collaboration within the team.
  • Design and implement solutions applying The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) framework to minimize technical debt and optimize project velocity within Agile environments.
  • Utilize MVC Development Methodology, Microservices architecture, and Apache ActiveMQ for robust messaging software solutions.
  • Develop and manage data models with CA Erwin and maintain data dictionaries.
  • Lead the development of DevOps pipelines incorporating tools like JIRA, focusing on automation in testing and deployment.
  • Ensure compliance with NIEM standards in interface design and integrate secure SSO solutions using Microsoft Active Directory and PIV cards.
  • Adhere to FISMA and NIST security standards in all architectural designs.
  • Estimate costs and architectural needs for data center and cloud-hosting solutions accurately.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • US Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance; previous or active DHS ICE clearance is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years in an enterprise IT environment with a Bachelor's degree, or minimum of twelve (12) years in an enterprise IT environment in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Proficiency in applying The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) in Agile environments.
  • Experience with MVC Development Methodology (Model/View/Controller).
  • Knowledge of Microservices software architecture design.
  • Familiarity with DevOps pipeline tools (e.g., JIRA for configuration management, requirements handling, automated testing, and deployment).
  • Experience developing and managing data models with CA Erwin.
  • Skill in creating and updating data dictionaries.
  • Technical proficiency with SQL for creating queries to ensure data integrity.
  • Experience using Message Services and developing Apache ActiveMQ services.
  • Expertise in developing interfaces compliant with National Information Exchange Model (NIEM) standards.
  • Ability to design and implement Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions using Microsoft Active Directory and Personal Identity Verification (PIV) cards.
  • Proficiency in network communication protocols, including knowledge of ports, routing, proxy settings, and firewall policies.
  • Experience ensuring compliance with Federal Information Management Security Act (FISMA) and NIST security standards.
  • Capability to design solutions that align with security requirements and policies.
  • Technically skilled in designing and implementing data center and cloud-based hosting solutions.
  • Ability to perform cost estimation and architecture recommendations considering lifecycle costs of enterprise software platforms.
  • Proven ability to conduct root cause analysis and develop problem resolution roadmaps.
  • Experience in analyzing business requirements and designing technical solution specifications.
  • Proficiency in system performance optimization through log analysis and resource monitoring.
