Just Right Reader is looking to hire an experienced Podcast Specialist to take full ownership of our podcast strategy, production, and distribution. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing a comprehensive podcast strategy, overseeing all aspects of podcast creation, and ensuring episodes are delivered to the right platforms. You will also manage the content calendar, coordinate recording times, and handle editing to ensure high-quality audio output. Collaboration with internal teams to share and promote episodes is key to this role.

What You'll Do At Just Right Reader

  • Strategy Development: Create and implement a podcast strategy that aligns with overall marketing and content goals, identifying target audiences and key themes.
  • Podcast Production: Oversee the entire production process from concept to execution, including scheduling, recording, editing, and uploading episodes.
  • Audio Editing: Edit podcast episodes to ensure clear, professional-quality audio, using tools like Adobe Audition, Audacity, or similar audio software.
  • Content Calendar Management: Develop and maintain a podcast content calendar, ensuring timely release of episodes.
  • Recording Coordination: Schedule and coordinate recording times with guests and internal stakeholders, ensuring smooth execution of all recordings.
  • Platform Management: Ensure podcasts are published on all appropriate platforms such as Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, and other relevant channels.
  • Internal Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing team to share episodes internally and promote across social media, email, and other channels.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all podcast episodes adhere to company quality standards and brand guidelines.
  • Performance Tracking: Monitor podcast performance metrics, listener engagement, and downloads to improve content and strategy.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in podcast production, including strategy development, recording, and editing.
  • Proficiency in audio editing software (e.g., Adobe Audition, Audacity, GarageBand, etc.).
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage a content calendar.
  • Experience coordinating and scheduling guest recordings.
  • Knowledge of podcast hosting platforms and distribution tools.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience with analytics tools to measure podcast performance.

  • Audio Editing: Adobe Audition, Audacity, GarageBand, or similar.
  • Recording Equipment: Professional microphones, audio interfaces, and recording software (e.g., Zoom, Riverside, or SquadCast).
  • Podcast Hosting Platforms: Libsyn, Podbean, Buzzsprout, or Anchor.
  • Content & Project Management: Asana, Trello, or similar tools for managing the podcast calendar and workflow.
  • Analytics Tools: Apple Podcast Connect, Spotify for Podcasters, or Google Analytics to track performance metrics.
