Description

Dragonfli is seeking a motivated individual to assist in coordinating operational activities related to patch management for LINUX and Windows-based real-time devices for a large commercial client. This is an excellent opportunity for someone starting their career in IT, with a focus on building skills in systems administration, project coordination, and patch management.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and documenting monthly patch discovery and evaluations for Linux and Windows systems.
  • Support quarterly patch deployment activities by working closely with senior team members and documenting all stages of the process.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure patch management timelines are met, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Maintain clear and concise records of patch-related activities and processes.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience through internships or coursework).

Experience: 0-1 year of relevant experience (internship or academic projects acceptable).

  • Familiarity with Linux and Windows systems from coursework or hands-on experience.
  • Basic understanding of technical documentation and project coordination.
  • Interest in patch management concepts and methodologies.

Skill(s)

Technical Skills:

  • Basic understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Knowledge of system security concepts (e.g., patching, vulnerability management).
  • Familiarity with any patch management solutions (Ivanti, WSUS, Ansible, etc.) is a plus but not required.
  • Exposure to project management tools like Jira is a plus.
  • Knowledge of VMware or similar platforms is a plus.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong desire to learn and develop in a technical role.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and good organizational skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and manage time effectively.

Travel

This role is primarily remote, but will require quarterly travel to client locations in the Midwest or Northeast U.S.
