As the super-platform for non-professional soccer in Europe, we bring pro-level experiences (news, data, gamification) to the mega-community of +190 million footballers and soccer fans.

We are a startup founded in 2021 in Cologne, Germany - our team consists of 30+ smart and "hungry" members working on Prematch in our offices in Cologne and Berlin (Marketing & Business Team) or remotely across Europe (Tech & Product Team).

We are supported by partners like Krombacher, Flaschenpost, Scalable Capital and DAZN, but there are still 1-2 bangers in the pipeline that you can be excited about! Furthermore, we are supported by successful investors like Ralf Reichert, the CEO of ESL or the entrepreneur Verena Pausder.

  • You will play a critical role in implementing robust data capabilities around our product, enabling data-driven insights and enhancing the overall user experience.
  • You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our data systems, ensuring high-quality data collection, processing, and analysis.
  • You will improve our software & data engineering practices and introduce new ones.

Your mission
  • You build data experiences that land directly in the hands of our users.
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and systems for efficient data collection, storage, and processing.
  • Ensure data quality through rigorous checks, validation, and cleansing techniques.
  • Stay updated on emerging software & data engineering technologies and contribute to continuous improvement of our data stack, architecture and infrastructure.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues, performance bottlenecks, and anomalies.
What do you need
  • 1+ years of professional experience (including internships or working student roles)
  • Experience in development with Python
  • Knowledge of Software Engineering practices
  • Deep passion for data quality
  • Experience with databases (especially SQL) and data modeling
  • Familiarity with web scraping techniques and tools
Advantage but not a must
  • Knowledge about recommender systems & LLMs.
  • Experience with all tools in our Tech Stack
