Quality Assurance (QA) Manager (DevOps Focus)

Position Overview: At SingleStore, we are committed to delivering high-quality, scalable, and performant software solutions. As the Quality Assurance (QA) Manager with a focus on DevOps, you will lead a team responsible for developing and implementing automated testing strategies within our CI/CD pipelines, ensuring rapid, reliable, and scalable software releases. This role combines leadership with technical expertise in QA automation, DevOps practices, and continuous integration. You will collaborate closely with development, product, and infrastructure teams to ensure quality is seamlessly integrated at every stage of the development lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers, developing and maintaining a robust test automation strategy aligned with business goals.
  • Design, develop, and oversee automated tests using frameworks like Playwright, ensuring comprehensive coverage of functional, regression, and performance testing.
  • Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to integrate QA processes into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) to support continuous integration and delivery.
  • Streamline testing workflows to improve the quality and efficiency of both manual and automated testing processes.
  • Establish and refine test plans, test cases, and testing methodologies for both manual and automated tests to ensure high quality in every release.
  • Work closely with developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues found during testing, ensuring quick turnaround times for defect resolution.
  • Drive continuous improvement in QA processes by identifying inefficiencies and automating repetitive tasks, ultimately reducing manual effort and increasing reliability.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the QA team, ensuring team members stay current with industry best practices in DevOps and automation.
  • Monitor and report on test execution, build stability, and release reliability, ensuring all critical issues are resolved before release.

Your Background:

  • Proven experience leading QA teams with a strong focus on automation and DevOps practices.
  • 7+ years of experience in software quality assurance, including extensive experience in test automation.
  • Hands-on experience with automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and their integration with test automation workflows (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions).
  • Experience with manual testing methodologies, including functional, regression, and exploratory testing.
  • Strong programming skills in JavaScript, Python, or similar languages for scripting and automation.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in identifying, diagnosing, and resolving issues.
  • Strong leadership abilities with a proven track record of mentoring and coaching a team to success.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments with a strong understanding of Agile testing practices.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with API testing frameworks (e.g., Postman, Swagger) and API automation tools like RestAssured.
  • Knowledge of performance testing tools such as Locust or JMeter and their integration with automation workflows.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of modern observability and monitoring tools is a plus.
