Key Responsibilities

• Architect and manage intricate data pipelines utilizing AWS services, including Lambda Functions, State Machines, and Kinesis Data Streams.
• Develop and uphold ETL scripts, SQL scripts, and ETL schedules employing schema-on-read services such as AWS Athena.
• Monitor and ensure the optimal operation of our managed relational databases (RDS) on AWS.
• Collaborate with scientists and analysts to discern their requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Engage in agile development methodologies, contributing to user stories, effort estimation, and quality assurance.
• Administer and develop NoSQL datastores, including DynamoDB, DocumentDB, MongoDB, Apache Solr, or AWS OpenSearch.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging protocols to guarantee top-tier database performance.
• Assess and propose cloud-oriented data storage solutions to enhance our platform’s architecture.
  
  

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, accompanied by a minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud infrastructure and database management.
• Proficiency in handling JSON data and API development.
• Extensive knowledge of AWS or other cloud platforms, emphasizing database management and design.
• Familiarity with NoSQL datastores and their architectural principles.
• Competence in data migration practices and ETL concepts.
• Understanding of relational databases (MySQL or PostgreSQL) and their management in cloud contexts.
  
  

Qualifications

• Proven experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools, such as CloudFormation or Serverless Framework, is desirable.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and iterative software development life cycles is an asset.
• Prior exposure to government healthcare programs is advantageous.
• Experience in data modeling, including designing ER diagrams and implementing data models, is beneficial.
• Programming knowledge in Python, Node.js, or similar languages is a plus.
• Background in bioinformatics or computational biology is an added advantage.
• A strong interest in contributing to the advancement of generative AI solutions is appreciated.
