Job responsibilities

 

The Remarketing Representative is responsible for the timely and effective execution of repossession procedures to mitigate company losses.  Essential duties include updating each account with their current status and communication from outside agents; creating and maintaining reports on bailiff activities, repossessions, accounts issued by province and bailiff; providing bailiffs with any requested information and following up with sellers/consignees, and processing sales proceeds. 

 

The Remarketing Representative is responsible for providing knowledgeable service through daily interactions to create a relationship of mutual trust and confidence with customers, suppliers, and fellow employees.  

 

This role works closely with representatives in the Payment Services team.  In some cases, the role is responsible, within limits, for assigning accounts to external suppliers and as such, must ensure that accounts are not assigned prematurely.

 

  • Assigning approved files to bailiff companies and providing all the proper information necessary for a swift recovery. 
  • Acting in a timely manner to coordinate the exchange of information with bailiffs, agents, and customers.
  • Tracking files that are assigned to outside agents and their status.
  • Addressing and resolving inbound customer concerns, inquiries, issues, or complaints during the repossession process.
  • Handling redemptions until the file is up to date. 
  • Confirming the location of seized vehicles and receipt of Condition reports 
  • Pricing of vehicles and setting up reserves prior to auction sales
  • Analyzing historical sales data from various reputable organizations to determine market trends and ensure that the vehicle is being priced competitively 
  • Process the sales proceeds and lien releases 
  • Contact Storage Facilities to redeem Impounded vehicles
  • Contact Insurance companies to coordinate insurance claims
  • Recommend the account for further recovery actions based on the provincial rules
  • Assign files to lawyers for legal actions
  • Assigning files to our 3rd party collection agency for further recovery actions and ensuring that we are getting timely updates
  • Create and maintain reports of remarketing activities

 

Qualifications, knowledge and experience

  • Effective communication, organization and interpersonal skills
  • You thrive in an environment that involves multitasking and changing priorities
  • Ability to work effectively both in a team and independently with minimal supervision
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office products
  • 2+ years of previous collections and remarketing experience is required
  • Experience working in a call centre environment is required
  • Experience in the finance and leasing industry is an asset
  • Ability to speak a 2nd language is an asset
