The Senior Procurement Specialist - CoE Contracting is expected to develop strong business relationships with customers (internal and external) typically at a mid-management or higher level. Must be able to analyze and understand complex customer requirements in order to provide professional advice and ongoing support to meet their business and strategic requirements.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Maintains close working relationships and provides professional advice and assistance to internal customers at all levels by but not limited to: Monitoring quality and efficiencies of relevant purchasing processes. Verifying requests accuracy, completion, and approvals. Coordinating and recommending best course of action for complex, global supplier contracts and SOWs
  • Provide user support in relation to department responsibilities such as; supplier selection, contract creation, negotiation and administration, and internal resource coordination.
  • Creates new and/or develops existing regional/global supplier relationships and reviews alternate sources, ensuring continuity of supply and consistency of quality
  • Utilize market research to guide internal customers identify the most qualified, best-in-class suppliers; continually reviewing the supplier information provided.
  • Develops, completes and as required, initiates and; with Legal, manages the contract and SOW review process, particularly in relation to the significantly more complex contracts and SOWs.
  • Analyzes and proposes definition of contract strategy, sourcing strategy, quality management, supplier selection, and improvement of procurement processes.
  • Negotiates favorable terms and conditions with key regional and global suppliers to ensure optimum price competitiveness and service levels are maintained.
  • Leverages procurement and other internal resources to meet time-sensitive, complex customer requirements.
  • Provides procurement and business senior management, with statistical, general and financial information as well as regular status reports and metrics on procurement related activities.
  • Leads and supports local and regional compliance audit activities as needed.
  • Undertake the full range of duties relevant to assisting in the leadership, management and development of the team to ensure their performance meets and or exceeds both the business and their own personal goals/objectives.
  • Provide guidance to team members and mentor junior, less experienced staff and team members.
  • Maintain a positive, results orientated work environment, building partnerships and modeling teamwork, sharing ideas by communicating with the team in an open, balanced and objective manner.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

  • A wealth of purchasing experience (strategic Sourcing/Procurement, Category Management, Contract Management and Supplier Performance Management) typically gained over 4 – 8 years.
  • Extensive experience supporting those at the mid to executive level.
  • Exposure to global operations and/or professional services.
  • Exposure to senior executive external client relationships.
  • Advanced knowledge of procurement principles, theories and processes.
  • Ability to work on complex procurement problems and provide high quality and/or innovative solutions.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, reporting skills.
  • Proven effective cross-functional business team experience.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to effect strategic direction.
  • Proven ability to lead, influence and motivate others.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet goals and deadlines.

Education:

  • High School Diploma/A Levels/HND or equivalent experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Accredited Purchasing Practitioner (APP) or appropriate Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS) certification or equivalent qualification required.

Languages

  • Strong English language (written and verbal) skills.
  • Ability to speak, write, and read local language preferred
