Job Overview

We are looking for a meticulous and dedicated Remote Medical Coder and Biller to become an integral member of our expanding team. This position is pivotal in ensuring efficient and accurate medical billing practices within the healthcare sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review patient claims for precision and completeness.
  • Appropriately assign and sequence medical codes in accordance with established industry standards.
  • Guarantee adherence to medical coding protocols and regulations.
  • Conduct thorough analyses of patient charts and related documentation for validation and accuracy.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues to clarify data and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Generate monthly reports based on physician data submissions.
  • Develop and apply effective procedures and evaluation techniques to secure correct results.
  • Provide assistance in the examination of medical malpractice cases.

Required Skills

  • Proficient in ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, CPT, Category II, and E/M coding.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems, including eCW and EPIC.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork capabilities.
  • Competence in making informed decisions grounded in analysis and critical thinking.

Qualifications

  • Preferred Associate degree in business, finance, health administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a primary care clinic environment is desirable.
  • Certified medical coder with a recognized certification (such as CPC, CRC, CCS, or CCS-P).
