This position will work mostly rotating through our sites with an emphasis at East Campus. There may be some opportunity to work remote.
Description
UC San Diego Health is seeking a Virtual Care Clinical Applications Analyst to provide application analysis, strategy, system build, analytics, and general support on the Virtual Care Technical (IS) Team. Our Virtual Care Team implements advanced solutions and supports applications and hardware specific to the systems clinical needs to provide the right level or care, in the right modality, at the right time.
This position will function as the technical application analyst responsible for developing and maintaining core Virtual Care products such as our eSitter solutions, Video Visit Platforms and Telemedicine Applications. This position will also work with our analytics teams to identify pertinent data models to support the Virtual Care program.
This position will involve design, building, testing, and implementation of applications, and data models within the clinical application system. Provides support to clinical users through knowledge of clinical processes, documentation needs, workflows, and clinical practice standards, when adapting software to meet their needs. Works with clinicians to prepare detailed specs encompassing clinical processes, information flow, risk and impact analysis. Will provide on-site customer service, troubleshooting, and maintenance, as a participant in an on-call support schedule.
Minimum Qualifications
- Seven (7) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor’s degree in related area plus three years of related experience/training. Related Experience in Healthcare technology focusing on clinical workflow build, testing and trouble shooting.
- Experience and proven success in information systems implementation, development and support within a large-scale healthcare organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional experience and proven success performing clinical workflows, user interface optimization and user acceptance testing.
- Experience troubleshooting and configuring wired and wireless communication equipment and related computer equipment, including application and operating systems software.
- Experience defining user requirements for complex systems and educating customers on application functionality and limitations.
- Experience Collaborating with customers on efficient, effective use of application resources, and create related documentation as necessary.
- Experience working with Vendors to align solutions with clinical needs and partnering with vendor resources for implementations.
- Familiarity with Virtual Care Solutions such as AvaSure, Doximity, Epic Native Video Visits, Vidyo, Zoom, Cisco, Amwell, IronBow etc.
- Experience supporting Virtual Care Hardware.
- Experience supporting Windows client-server applications, such as OnBase and GE ViewPoint.
- Familiarity with UC Protocols such as SIP, H323, SCCP, and WebRTC.
- Familiarity with EHRs specifically EPIC.
- EPIC Certification in any module.
- Experience with Tableau data visualization and a willingness to become EPIC Data module certified.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation skills for a group setting; ability to manage multiple programs independently, setting priorities to meet deadlines.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
- Willingness to participate in an On-Call Support Rotation.
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $94,400 - $176,800 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $45.21 - $84.67
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
